Celebration Inspiration: E’s Cookie Decorating Birthday Party
We recently attended the most delicious birthday party for Elizabeth C. of South Tampa at Palma Ceia Park. When we say delicious, we mean it! The cookie decorating theme was absolutely delightful, from the cookie inspired invitation, cookie decor, cookie decorating activity table to the..(you guessed it) cookie cutter party favors.
We asked E’s mom, Laura, to share the inspiration behind E’s celebration:
Where did you get the idea for a cookie decorating party?
We had booked the train pavilion at the Largo park. However, it ended up there was a scheduling conflict on their end and the train would not be running that day. We had just been to the ‘Cookies with the Clauses’ event that the Junior League of Tampa put on during its Holiday Gift Market and talked about how much fun Elizabeth had decorating the cookies.
City and county parks seem to be a popular option for birthday parties. How did you go about booking Palma Ceia Park pavilion?
I booked through the City of Tampa Parks and Recreation Department. It is an online
submission and then someone contacted me to go over the details and
emailed the release and contract over.

You also had a balloon guy at the party, which the kids loved! Who did you hire?
The balloon guy is tonytheballoonguy.com. I met him at another friend’s birthday party.
Your invitations were adorable! Where did you find them?
I ordered the invitations on etsy and had them printed locally at Gutchers. The etsy site also offered additional printables for party favor tags, banners, etc.
Did you have a backup plan for inclement weather?
We did not have a back up plan. I figured we would crowd under the pavilion, because I was not brave enough to have a backup plan at our house.
Where did you order the food for the party?
Publix was amazing with ordering the cookies. Pizza and Chick-fil-A are the other top places in Elizabeth’s book, so it made the food easy to just do all of her favorites.
People are always asking about the best gifts for our kiddos. What did E love for her 3rd birthday?
Elizabeth LOVES dress up these days. She received some princess dresses that have been a huge hit as well as the Melissa and Doug cookie set where the cookies and frosting velcro together and then they can pretend baking and slicing the cookies. It is our go-to gift now for parties. She also received 2 gifts that were from Crayola that are perfect for the kid who loves crafts and the parents who don’t want all the mess!
