Tips for Throwing a Successful Princess Party

Want to make your child’s princess party experience even more magical? Read the following tips below to ensure their special day is one to remember!

1. Play along!

Don’t spoil the magic. Call the princess performer by her princess name. Get excited with the kids when she arrives. Talk to her about her story. If you believe, they’ll believe.

2. Don’t surprise your child if you don’t know how she’ll respond.

A princess coming to their party is a big deal! Some children may get overwhelmed when a princess knocks on their door. Surprise princesses are fantastic for some and  the reactions are priceless! For others, it’s best to prepare them for the excitement. As a parent, you know your child best. If you’re unsure how they’ll react, telling her about the princess ahead of time is typically a safer bet.

3. Make sure your camera or phones are charged & have space for lots of photos.

Before the party, make sure your camera or phone has plenty of space for pictures and has a full battery. A a “low storage” warning on your camera or low battery on your phone may mean missing out on capturing a special moment.

4. Shhhh… Keep the volume level low.

A  less-than-perfect party is usually due to excessive noise. Loud music, bouncy castles, and loud guests distract from your child’s time with the princess. Where’s the magic in story time if nobody can hear the story? And you won’t want to miss our performers’ amazing singing voices!

5. Less is more; trim the guest list.

Nowadays, people love the idea of the more the merrier, right? However, often parties with fewer than 10 children make for the most intimate, magical settings. Smaller guest lists allow each child more individual time with the princess for her to make them feel special. For parties with more than 20 children, we strongly recommend booking more than one princess.

6. Encourage dress up.

Have the birthday girl and her friends dress up in their favorite princess gowns or fancy dresses. Dressing the part makes the day even more magical.

7. Communicate

Your performer wants nothing more than to make your daughter’s birthday dreams come true. In the days and weeks leading up to the party, please ask questions, voice any concerns, and share your ideas to make your daughter’s day extra special. We strive to spread joy and wonder by bringing dreams to life and will work with you to make every detail precisely the way you imagined it.

Finally, when the big day arrives – relax and enjoy the experience.  A child’s belief in magic is so fleeting, so savor the moment.  Both you and your daughter are making precious memories to last a lifetime. Contact Parties With Character today to book your Tampa princess party experience.
